BAKERS EDDY // PREMIERE—Asks ‘If You See Kay’ On New Single

Kiwi bred, Melbourne-based pop-punks Bakers Eddy have dropped a cheeky new track, If You See Kay, following up single Jack Shit For You.

If You See Kay was produced by Tom Larkin and Jon Grace of The Studios in the City. The track is the second single from their upcoming EP.

“’If You See Kay’ is a modern cautionary tale, involving a fictional character and sex drugs and rock and roll,” according to a band statement. “A punk track through and through with dirty drums, fuzzed up gats [sic] and rowdy vocals, the track is as subtle as a nail through the foot and as charming as the cheating fuckface that it is about.”

By way of introduction, Bakers Eddy is vocalist CJ Babbington, drummer Jamie Gordon, and bassist Ian Spagnolo, formed in 2009. Two years later, they let in Ian’s twin brother Alex. “We got sick of him playing PS3 in the same room while we rehearsed, so we taught him an A chord and then he was in.”

Throughout 2015-16, they released an EP and two singles, and toured New Zealand, opening for the likes of Gang of Youths, The Rubens, and US band Highly Suspect.

They moved to Melbourne to work with producer Tom Larkin of Shihad in 2016.

Their plan of never getting real jobs seems to have worked.
