Has The Amity Affliction unintentionally announced the departure of long-time drummer Ryan Burt?
UPDATE 1938 AEDT: Hysteria has confirmed Amity members Joel Birch and Dan Brown no longer follow Burt on Instagram.
The Brisbane metalcore outfit’s latest Instagram picture may be the clue.

Here’s what we know so far:
Burt is missing from the latest image to appear on The Amity Affliction’s Instagram account.
In his place is a different individual: Troy Wright. On Wright’s personal Instagram profile his
bio states that he’s “currently playing with The Amity Affliction”.
Go to Ryan Burt’s personal Instagram profile and any reference to The Amity Affliction in his
bio has now been removed.
The last photo posted by Burt on his Instagram account depicting TAA dates back to early
September.
Burt first joined The Amity Affliction back in 2008.
Last year the drummer took a break from touring internationally with the band, citing “ongoing
mental demons”. The band confirmed his exit was for the good of Ryan’s mental state.
If Burt’s permanent departure from TAA is true, the whole Hysteria family wish him the best in his future endeavours. He’s certainly played a fundamental role in creating and shaping what the band is today!
